Haiku is the shortest poetry form in the world, originating in Japan in the 17th Century. In this introductory workshop, you will learn tips for reading & writing haiku, and seek inspiration from the sights, sounds and smells of midsummer.
· no experience of haiku, poetry or any type of creative writing is needed
· the workshop will include a short haiku walk in the locality
· just bring a pen and paper, and wear ‘sensible’ shoes
The workshop will be led by acclaimed poet & educator Maeve O’Sullivan, who has six collections from Alba Publishing. Maeve’s haiku have been widely published, anthologized & awarded, and have been translated into over ten languages.
